Control Concepts Launches Compact Flow Aid

New model clears material blockages, promotes material flow, clears blocks, and lowers operating costs.

Control Concepts Inc. introduces the AirSweep USDA-112—a compact pneumatic flow aid designed for small vessels and powder process equipment like rotary valves, rotary magnets and drawer magnets, loss-in-weight hoppers, and more.

The model received a certificate of acceptance from the USDA, which assures food, beverage, and pharmaceutical processors that it meets industry safety standards.

The AirSweep USDA-112 emits high-pressure air pulses that push stagnant material and promote first-in/first-out flow. The patented design can be removed and installed without tools for frequent cleaning.

It is the latest addition to the AirSweep USDA-accepted series, which is proven effective for all materials, from hygroscopic powders to moist, sticky, or dense mixtures.

The model offers this proven technology in a compact, globally patented design. “We recognize that companies may have vessels or system components with space constraints. The USDA-112 fits in small spaces and uses less compressed air or gas. This allows them to maximize material flow and lower costs,” said Henry Tiffany, president of Control Concepts Inc.

The USDA-112 operates at 40 to 60 psi with an activation diameter of up to 5 ft. Like the other AirSweep units, it can be used for any material and be installed in a variety of processing equipment, from hoppers to chutes.

The AirSweep USDA-112 will soon join the other products with ATEX certification, meeting the European Union’s safety standards for explosive or hazardous settings. This certification ensures safe and compliant use in applications that use potentially flammable airborne powders, such as flour, cornstarch, cocoa, spices, or more.
